Sun, 11 May 2008 Although our culture today has a distorted idea of motherhood, God has laid down a clear ideal regarding the creation and calling of mothers. Motherhood is a creation of God (Genesis 1:27) to bring glory to God in ways unique to them, and to bear God's image in unique ways to them. Motherhood is a calling of God (Genesis 1:28) to a very specific and substantial calling. Motherhood is also under the curse of God because of sin (Genesis 3:16), bringing painful and painstaking effects because of the affect sin has on the mother's sphere. Fortunately though, motherhood is under the redemption of God because of Jesus.Comments[0] |
