Preaching to the Not So Perennial Choir - Acts 8:1-25

Just like any good drama is filled with sequels that continue to unfold, so too the Scriptures are filled with unfolding dramas and sequels from cover to cover. The Gospel Reloaded tells the story of one of the most exciting sequels in all of Scripture - the continued ministry of Jesus after His life, death, burial, resurrection and ascension through the book of Acts. Today we will see the early church was forced to go to Samaria and the Gentile world, so we too no longer have the luxury of preaching only to the perennial choir. Preaching to the not so perennial choir presupposes preaching, that there is good news to preach about, and it will probably require pain, while also meeting practical needs to radically change the perspective of culture.
